Appalachian Headwaters

Landscaping Crew Member

Appalachian Headwaters is a non-profit organization focusing on ecological restoration, native plants, pollinators, and environmental education. We are looking to expand our team with environmentally minded restoration landscapers. The position will be on site at our 160-acre site, 5 miles west of downtown Lewisburg.

The primary responsibilities for these roles will include invasive plant removal along our trail systems, woods and woodland edges, working on conversion of pasture to native meadow, helping to plant and maintain native gardens and other plantings, trail building and maintenance, equipment maintenance, cleaning facilities, general landscaping, greenhouse work and other jobs as they arise.

We use organic to methods for invasive control and meadow conversion whenever possible; this means the work requires a significant level of physicality (ability to lift 50lbs and ability to traverse uneven terrain is a must) and significant experience operating chainsaws, hedge trimmers, tillers, tractors, etc. is preferred. An applicator’s license and basic carpentry skills are preferred but not required.

Payrate is $18-25/hour, depending on experience. The organization offers 10 paid company holidays and 10 annual paid sick days. Position(s) set to begin in Mid-March, with full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles available. Apply by emailing a resume and brief statement of interest to iwalker@appheadwaters.org
