Appalachian Headwaters

Supporting Environmental Education

Appalachian Headwaters is committed to helping teachers and students engage with environmental education. Our programs equip participants to explore environmental issues, develop a deeper understanding of the natural world, engage in problem solving, and take action to improve the environment.

We host nature walks, classes, and other events to help teach children and adults about the world around them.

We partner with schools and other community programs to build hands-on content that helps meet the school's learning goals. We also work with teachers and schools to help them meet science, language arts, math, and social studies standards.

We work directly with children and young adults through our environmental summer camp, the Appalachian Pollinator Center, and community science programs.

We sponsor high school and college internships, and college scholarships.
