Appalachian Headwaters

Monthly Bird Walks in Greenbrier County

Come learn about local birds and explore the new Headwaters Park in Lewisburg. Join our summer ecologist for a guided bird walk on Friday morning!

Appalachian Headwaters is holding a free series of fun, interactive programs with our summer resident ecologist, Dr. Ami Thompson! Come listen for birds along our ridge trail. We’ll also share more opportunities to get involved with community science programs. The first program will take place on Friday, July 7 at 8 AM.

Dress for the weather. No experience necessary. Children and adults welcome! Please bring water.

We encourage you to download the free Merlin app before coming, so you can learn how to use this awesome tool to identify birds from their songs. Download here: https://merlin.allaboutbirds.org/

There is no cost, but please RSVP here on facebook or email kjohnson@appheadwaters.org to let us know you’re coming.

Questions? Reach out to kjohnson@appheadwaters.org.

Directions – The program will take place at Headwaters Park, the new environmental education center about six miles northwest of Lewisburg, just off Rt 60.
