Wood Thrush Park and Edu Center
The Education Center just outside of Lewisburg, West Virginia, sits on 200 acres of habitat at Wood Thrush Park. Staff at Wood Thrush Park use community science programs and environmental education to help people understand and protect native wildlife and wildlife habitats, with a special focus on pollinators. All of our work is based on ecological principles and has the goal of elucidating the connections among plants, humans, and wildlife. Healthy, diverse wildlife populations are critical to the ecological health of our communities and the stability of our economy.
Appalachian Headwaters also works to restore damaged Appalachian ecosystems, currently the land that encompasses Wood Thrush Park is actively being restored to native habitat by our plant and grounds restoration crews. We welcome the use of the park for hiking, community education, and research by appointment. If interested in visiting Wood Thrush Park please email mcollins@appheadwaters.org.
